implement walkscore

Reported by greenbuildingbrain | March 4th, 2010 @ 05:20 PM

I think that's a great idea! The api also makes it look easy to implement into our existing database. My thinking would be to implement it in a pretty unobtrusive way as seen in this example:

http://www.walkscore.com/api.shtml (see option 2 for branding requirements.

A simple line item under the regular data columns with a ? mark that would pop up a dialog explaining where the score comes from and linking to the walkscore website.

My only concern is that it may appear we're endorsing the walkscore™. They look credible to me though. Does any one have any objections?

Hi all,

i was thinking that potentially an easy addition to the Brain is to display the Walkscore of each building. although a little primitive, a building's walkscore does give a good indication about neighbourhood context. i.e. is it in a car-dependent area or one that is mixed use.

all you need is the address. http://www.walkscore.com/

thoughts?

Cheers,
Amanda
